Anthony Campisi, Principal

Anthony utilizes his more than 15 years of experience in journalism, government and strategic communications to build campaigns to help organizations large and small move the needle on some of the nation’s most significant public policy debates, from climate change to labor rights.

Nonprofits, unions, trade associations and advocacy groups turn to him when they’re seeking to bring public pressure to bear to advance legislation, influence executive action and secure a seat at the table as critical decisions are made at the local, regional and state levels.

Anthony also works closely with political action committees to develop strategy on major election campaigns and independent expenditure efforts at the local, state and federal levels.

At the same time, Anthony works to protect the reputations of high-profile organizations facing crises that could damage their brand and impact political relationships and critical government funding sources.

Prior to founding Walnut Lane Strategies, Anthony worked at a senior level for a leading regional issue advocacy firm, as well as a consultant to nonprofit advocacy groups and political campaigns. He also served in the administration of former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.

Anthony cut his chops as a journalist for the Philadelphia Daily NewsThe Philadelphia Inquirer and the New Jersey Statehouse Bureau of the Bergen Record. This experience gives him a deep understanding of the media and political landscape in Harrisburg, Trenton and Philadelphia’s City Hall.

A native of Metuchen, N.J., and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he currently resides with his family in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Anthony serves on the board of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and the Local Advisory Committee for DePaul USA, a faith-based affordable housing provider. Anthony is also an active member of the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields in the city’s Chestnut Hill section, where he served on the Discernment Committee to call the congregation's current rector.
